So I had to take this past week and go back to the drawing board. I’ve decided to keep my topic space in the “Generational” realm and I’m working on researching/exploring the potential deliverables that could come to fruition.

While I’m still passionate about staying in a typographic space, I also think there’s a lot of cool UX deliverables that could be interesting spaces to explore. I think honing in on a specific audience will help me moving forward. Who do I really want to design for?

As of now, my project statements are as follows:

  1. I’m creating a font that visualizes the intangible characteristics of Generation Z in order to convey the experience of Gen Z in a way that designers from other generations can digest. (modified original statement)

2. I’m creating a simulated experience that conveys the shared experiences of generation z for generations struggling to understand the perspective of young people.

3. I’m creating a microsite that explores the relationship between mindsets and generational shifts to show how each generation is built off the progressiveness of the last.

4. I’m making an interface that explores the benefits of downfalls of growing up with such advanced technology at our fingertips to encourage empathy from generations who grew up less “connected.”

5. I’m making a digital zine that explores the idea of Gen Z and new dadaism for people that can’t quite understand why Gen Z humor is so bizarre.

6. I’m making a microsite that explores how brands are failing to understand the wants of Generation Z and how marketing to a Generation that’s generally unhappy with capitalism requires less marketing/more transparency for brands that are falling short in this category.
