WEEK TWO The Plot Thickens

Twenty (20) capstone ideas. I came up with TWENTY capstone ideas and I am still not sure the direction I want to go. While my ideas are all over the map right now (imposter syndrome, greenwashing, fine art, astrology…you name it I’ve considered a capstone project for it), I’m starting to see some common overarching themes.

Likely stemming from my semester studying design post-capitalism, there are a lot of ideas that reimagine commercial products from a discursive angle. There’s also a pretty big emphasis on the “why” in each of my projects. It’s clear that I want to find the qualitative within the quantitative. This will definitely require getting into the nitty gritty of whatever topic space I choose.

It’s also clear that I don’t want to get too serious. I want to question and deep dive and look into serious topics, but I don’t want to drown in depressing content over the next year.

In terms of deliverables, I’d really like to stay in the UX/UI space, but I am open to print deliverables if I feel it’s more fitting for the topic space.

At this point, I’ve taken the liberty to narrow form 20 ideas to 7. Hoping by the end of this week I’ll have that cut down to 3… and the following week I’ll find the one. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to commit to one without instant regret 🤠
